with the use of a new educational tool designed for strength and
conditioning professionals and students. Functional Resistance Training
Techniques CD-ROM incorporates text screens, video, and audio and
video stills to deliver practical content and superior instruction
to fitness professionals. Not only will users be able to read about
the exercises, but they will also be able to watch how the exercise
is performed, ensuring that they understand the proper technique.
Authors Lee E.
Brown and Matthew J. Comeau, both certified strength and conditioning
specialists with decades of professional experience, deliver quality
as well as quantity in this information-packed, Windows®-based
CD-ROM. The three-part tool allows users to better understand and
apply resistance training techniques and to develop more tailored
programs to meet the needs of their clients.
The CD features
descriptive information in text and graphic form on technique, safety,
and movement variations for using free and machine weights. It also
includes 28 carefully selected resistance exercises for the upper,
lower, and core body regions; the descriptions include details about
proper alignment, variations, proper technique, and primary muscle
action for each exercise. Plus, the directory interface allows users
to navigate easily through the program.
Additional features
on the CD include
· color-coded primary muscles for easy identification,
· a mixture of free and machine exercises so that users can
learn techniques applicable to different forms of resistance exercises,
and
· hyperlinks to complementary exercises.
